Community Service

Community service is a vital component of the St. Luke's experience.  As the Gospel of Luke proclaims, "Those to whom much has been given, much is expected".  It is therefore understood that St. Luke's students should seek ways to share their blessings with others.  Understanding that life's most precious commodity is time, it is important that we share our time with others as we consistently seek ways to build up others.

Students in the Class of 2013 are required to complete a minimum of 60 hours of community service by May 1 of their senior year.  Students in the Class of 2014 are required to complete a minimum of 80 hours of community service by May 1 of their senior year.  Students in Grades 6-8 are required to complete a minimum of 20 hours of community service by May 1 of their 8th Grade year.

Log sheets for community service hours may be printed from this page or obtained in the library or Student Services.  The sheets must be signed by a person in charge of the activity and turned in to Mrs. Blackwell.  Student service hour totals will be posted monthly on the community service bulletin board in the computer lab.  Opportunities for service will also be regularly posted on this bulletin board.  Community service activities that are not sponsored or advertised by SLES must be approved by Mrs. Blackwell in order to count.
