In keeping with the St. Luke’s Episcopal mission statement, “St. Luke’s fosters the development of self-confidence and positive self-esteem by relying on mind, body, and spirit as nurtured in a family oriented environment.” Our athletic department offers a wide variety of sports beginning in the fall, and lasting to the spring. St. Luke’s wants all our student athletes to compete at a high level. We want them to play with self-discipline and personal sacrifice, and be the best person they can be, both on and off the field.
We want to encourage our student athletes to participate in as many sporting events as they can possibly handle. Playing on a team is one of the most rewarding things an athlete can endure; it teaches them the importance of commitment, discipline, and working together as a team. All these things, they will experience when they graduate from college and enter the work force.
Student athletes and coaches have been working hard this summer in preparation for the upcoming 2012-2013 seasons. Talking to all our athletes you can see the excitement in their eyes. They understand the last couple years have been hard because of the level of competition played and the long hours of practice. They all realize that everything they have done to this point is paying off and it will lead to area championships, playoff appearances, and possibly, a state title!!
The St. Luke’s community, coaches, and parents are so proud of our Wildcats and we know that our female and male athletes are chomping at the bit to get started this year!
