Admission Process

Step 1
All Applicants

  • Submit a completed application for admission.  There is no application fee.

Step 2
Early Childhood Applicants (K3, K4, K5)

  • Schedule a readiness evaluation

Grades 1-5

  • Schedule a campus tour, interview, and shadowing date (Grades 3-5)
  • Submit a copy of 2 years of standardized test scores and a copy of the last report card

Grades 6-10

  • Schedule a campus tour, interview, and shadowing date
  • Schedule admission testing
  • Submit a copy of the last 2 years of standardized test scores and a copy of the last report card
  • Print a copy of the Principal / Counselor Recommendation Form, sign it at the top,  and have it completed at your current school.  It should then be sent directly to:  St. Luke's Office of Admissions, 1400 University Boulevard South, Mobile, Alabama 36609.

Notification of Acceptance

  • After re-enrollment of current students in January, applicant files are processed and families will be notified in a timely manner.
  • The school will issue contracts to qualified candidates for whom space exists.  Enrollment will be considered complete when the signed contract and tuition deposits are returned to and accepted by the school. 
  • Enrollment is understood to be for the full school year and the full year of tuition must be paid.  The school recommends the purchase of tuition insurance, should your student need to withdraw for any reason.
  • Once enrolled, parents must submit a blue State of Alabama Certificate of Immunization.
  • A copy of each student’s birth certificate must be on file in the Registrar’s office.

Age Requirements
St. Luke’s Episcopal School follows the birth date requirements for admission as set forth by the State of Alabama Department of Education.  All students must reach the following ages for admission:

  • 3 years of age by September 1 for K3
  • 4 years of age by September 1 for K4
  • 5 years of age by September 1 for Kindergarten
  • 6 years of age by September 1 for First Grade

St. Luke’s seeks to enroll a group of diverse students.  We follow an open admission policy whereby qualified candidates are admitted without regard to religion, race, nationality, economic background, or ethnic origin.  Applicants are evaluated on the basis of academic record, admissions testing, and personal observation (K3, K4, K5).


Priority for admission is given to:

  • Children already enrolled in the school
  • Siblings of currently enrolled students
  • Children of families of St. Luke’s Parish
  • Children of St. Luke’s alumni and staff

In order to receive priority status, applications must be on file in the Admissions Office by November 15 prior to the year for which the child is applying.
